Valentine's Day 2015

Peyton loves festivities.  He enjoys a good party and loves holidays.  Naturally he was looking forward to Valentine's Day.  He couldn't stop talking about how much he loved his card last year.  [He didn't remember anything about the toy or treat he got...interesting.]  So on Valentine's Day morning P came up to our room and I whispered "Happy Valentine's Day" in his ear.  His face lit up and he said, "Did you get me somethin'?"  I replied, "No, buddy.  I'm sorry.  I don't have a treat for you this morning." (Chad went to the temple in the morning so I was waiting to give the kids their Valentine's until he got home.) "Mom," Peyton said, "Do you think you can try harder next year?"  I could not help but smile to myself.  Peyton proceeded o look around the house for a hidden Valentine.

Before, Daddy got home, we had pink Valentine heart pancakes with Valentine M&M's and strawberry milk.  Both P and Avery asked for seconds, if you can believe it.  Then P went to his first real birthday party-and loved it-while Avery and I went on a date to the children's museum.  Then we picked up Peyton and Dad and headed to lunch.  When we got home, the kids had special surprises waiting for them.  They were both super excited and Peyton kept saying "Thank you, thank you.  I love my Valentine treats!"

Chad and I got to go on a long overdue date as well! We hit HuHot for dinner and Chad whooped me in a game of bowling.  And much to our delighted surprise, both kids did great for the babysitter!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

NOTE:  There are not as many pictures of P opening his presents because he basically threw everything aside and was off to play with his transformer the minute he saw it. The measure of a successful gift, I guess.
