Peyton Stories
Potty Training Take 3= SUCCESS!!!
This is so overdue but it needs to be recorded. Peyton is fully potty trained as mid October. Yay!! I really cannot complain to much. He was honestly pretty easy. He just had to decide he wanted to do it and that's how we rolled. I didn't ever make him do anything he didn't want to. One day, on attempt number 3, I needed to either buy dipes or more underwear. We were at Target and I let him decide. We bought a lot of "daddy" unders aka boxer briefs. To this day they are his favorite and we even have Thomas, Cars, Planes, and Mickey Mouse! We put all of his pull-ups in the "trash"-a trash bag hidden in my room and he started peeing on the potty. Peyton was terrified of going #2 on the big pot so for a while he would just ask for a pull up to do his business. I was fine with it. In the mean time we bought a little potty that sings when you go and he started thinking it was pretty cool and he wanted to try it out. While I was away on a girls weekend in WI the glorious moment happened...he asked Chad to go #2 on the little pot. It was a glorious day and about a week later he was golden, going on the big pot for ALL. We haven't had many set backs and though he wears a "sleeper" to bed he wakes up dry most every morning. He's pretty proud of his accomplishments too. A couple weeks ago he drew a picture of himself "sitting on the pot with lots of brown poops coming out." (His description, not mine.)
GOODBYE and HELLO to Binks
I don't know why but Chad and I decided that maybe Peyton was ready for the Binky Fairy to make a visit to our house. P is not super attached to the bink. He only gets it to sleep and sometimes he won't even ask for it. We started talking about giving binks to the Binky Fairy and she would leave a toy of his choosing. P decided he wanted a semi and was ready to give up his binkies. It was a Saturday night in October and Chad was on call. We wrote a letter to the Binky Fairy and Peyton brought his binks up all by himself. I will admit I was a little emotional. My baby was giving up his binks signifying that he is no longer a baby. In the morning he woke up to find a semi waiting where his binks had been. He was super excited about it for about a week. He took his semi EVERYWHERE! Unfortunately, he started fighting nap and bedtime. He would cry for the bink and ask if he could give his semi back. I finally gave in. It was so not worth it for me to fight him everyday. He hasn't asked for the semi back yet. Maybe someday!
