October 2014

October was so much fun!  It really was just a wonderful month.  The weather was beautiful and so much warmer than we could have imagined after a chilly September. We were able to continue "apple pickin'" and play at the park with friends nearly every afternoon. And with Chad beginning a new quarter we started seeing him more than we have in about 6 months and we couldn't have been more happy to spend time together as a family.

In October...
we picked pumpkins at the pumpkin patch.

we played outside a lot.

Peyton started riding his scooter around the block and eventually even longer distances.

I made a lot of applesauce with farm fresh apples.

we prepared for Halloween by doing crafts and I made the kids costumes while watching a lot of Parenthood.

I went to Time Out For Women in Madison with some friends...overnight with NO kids!   while Chad kicked it into Super-Dad mode taking the kids out to dinner both nights and even to the Library on one of the craziest Saturdays of the year.

Grandma Kelli came to visit

Chad and I got to go on a little and much needed stay-cation to Minneapolis where we went to a Piano Guys concert, went to the temple, saw Meet The Mormons and slept all night without interruption!

We had family pictures taken and got kicked off the site about 20 minutes into the shoot.  Apparently is costs money to take pictures with old barns and leaves.

Monkey Junction opened!  Peyton couldn't wait to get playing and Avery loved it!

Peyton completed potty training...Hooray!  And gave up binks...for a week.

We enjoyed Trunk or Treat and Halloween.

I just love this picture because you can just see the love these 2 have for each other.

She did that all by herself.  She thought she was pretty funny.

PIANO GUYS!!!

Shot day is no fun.

Peyton colored this!  He's a pro.  The scribbles are Avery's.

Peyton built this city all by himself....it's Daddy's work.

STORY:  One day at Monkey Junction, Peyton was pushing a shopping cart-type toy and slipped.  The toy came back and hit him right in the head.  He had an instant bruise.  We took a picture to send to Daddy.  We have to show him all our owies.  Peyton didn't stop talking about his "donut" for weeks!

Avery like to be just like her bro.  That face is priceless!

Halloween????
That's for another post!
