July

HOME SWEET HOME.  We were all so happy to be back in our own space, our own beds and rooms after being in Baltimore for 3 months. Peyton kept saying "I love this Minnesota house".  We were grateful to be reunited with our friends and I am convinced we have the best friends in the world.  On the night we got home the Bourne's welcomed us home with cookies and we found out they mowed our insanely long grass for us so we would have one less thing to worry about upon arrival.  Seriously, they are so amazing!  We spent the first few weeks in Rochester trying to get settled and put back together.  There was extra work to do since we had renters while we were gone.  And then it was time to get ready for vacation but we played as much as we could before leaving.

We also  celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary.  Whoo hoo!  It's been the best 6 years of our lives.  Can't believe its been so long and yet I feel like we have known each other forever.  We celebrated with ice cream, home shopping at Target and Field of Dreams on the Plaza.

STORY:  We haven't had a babysitter for a while and Peyton was a little nervous.  He cried before I left to get our babysitter.  He was so sad when we left so we told her we would go to ice cream and then check in.  If he was still hysterical, we would come home.  Nope, Peyton put himself to bed.  Very matter-of-factly said, "I'm going to bed!"  Sofie asked Peyton if she could read him a story and he yelled at her to go away.  I guess it was an easy babysitting job.  I don't know what we will do with this kid.

In July Chad embarked on yet another busy (maybe even busier than Baltimore) rotation...Tumor.  Though I would say this rotation has been far more bearable.  I'm grateful he is on this rotation during the warm months and we aren't stuck at home and we are with friends!!!  Surprisingly the rotation has been pleasant for Chad as well and he's gotten to drink a lot of Caffeine Free Coke ;) We have missed having him around though.  The week before we left on vacation, Chad never made it home to see the kids before bed.  There were just a couple nights Peyton happened to be awake in bed and Chad got to say good night.  I think it's safe to say we wouldn't be sad if October comes quickly.

P slept on a queen size bed in Baltimore and he just didn't seem very comfortable in his toddler bed when we got home.  Sleep improved with the new bed...trust me!
