January Update

January was rough.  It started out with sickness, appliances breaking and sub zero temperatures.  The subzero temperatures continued, cabin fever set in and my sweet kids who have been sharing a room since Avery was 4 months, hit a level of sleep deprivation no child should experience. And sleep deprived kids means an even more sleep deprived, insanely cranky Mama.  To top it all off we started going to church at 1:00.  Let's just say things haven't been so jolly around the Watts' house.

I am truly grateful for this opportunity to reflect on the experiences we had this month.  Looking back there really were many moments of joy intermixed with adversity.

So, some updates.  Chad started a new quarter in January, Peds.  New rotations are always a challenge, but Chad seemed to settle in just fine.  Things have been about the same busy-wise which is nice. Chad only has to round once every 4 weeks.  It's awesome.  We have been trying to do some fun things on the days he is off.  One weekend we took a little day trip to Cabelas.  Peyton was super excited.  He loved seeing the animals and we even got to have some fudge.

The biggest news of the month-the kids are now in separate rooms!  Whoo hoo!  After falling down 2 flights of stairs I finally said enough was enough. I was so exhausted and tired from stressing about the kids waking each other up that I was literally walking around in a haze. We saw dramatic improvement in just a few days.  I feel a little bad that Peyton has to sleep in the freezing basement but he is just fine and loves his new room and big-boy bed.

This month Peyton started attending a little pre-school my friend is doing in her home.  It's just a half-hour of instruction and then playtime.  After the first day, we came home and Peyton said, "I love school!"  It has been so great for us to get out of the house and Peyton really loves to be around other kids.

Other than that, we are just trying to stay warm!  Pray for us that these insanely low temperatures go away soon!
Temps this day got as low as -58*

It was only -29* wind chill so we went to Costco!

We thought we should move downstairs and leave the kids up...we were half-way done moving our room when Chad said, "Why are we not moving Peyton downstairs?"

P's new room!

We're in trouble...She stands!

Maybe he'll fulfill Chad's dunking dreams someday
