July Part 3

There are so many fun things we have done this month. I feel like I should start writing more often!

I just realized I never talked about our anniversary.  How could I omit something so important!!!  Our actual anniversary was just another day but we did exchange gifts.  The 5 year anniversary gift is wood.  Chad bought me a beautiful wood watch and I bought him golf tees and a gift card to buy a driver.  I think we done good.
On the 12th, Chad and I got to go on a date-with a little girl in tow.  Chad planed our date.  (We've decided to start switching off planning anniversaries.)  We went out to dinner at The Outback and then it was off to the bowling alley.  Chad whipped me in bowling, getting his all time high score.  After bowling we were going to take a walk but Avery needed to eat so we stopped and fed her and then took a drive.  As it got dark there were so many fireflies in the corn fields.  I couldn't believe it.  It was like they were sparkling. I can't believe we have already been married 5 years.  It's been amazing and I can't wait for many more years to come.

Just after Sara and the boys went home we headed out to "Movies Under the Stars".   They were showing Cars.  How could we pass that up? We were joined by our new friends the Bournes.  It was such a blast!  They had a lot of pre-movie activities.  Peyton especially LOVED the bounce house, sitting in the real racecar and playing with the race track.  Peyton even came out with a black eye from falling on his car in the bonce house.  It didn't phase him though.  Avery enjoyed the movie as well but it was a little chilly so we headed out early.  I was surprised the kids lasted until 10pm!

The last couple weeks we have decided to follow Aunt Sara's example by reading scriptures together at breakfast.  Peyton and I are reading the illustrated Book Of Mormon.  I love how he repeats words like "Nephi", "obey", "ship"...makes me believe that he really is listening and learning.   It really has made our home a more happy place.

One particular hard day, I had the thought to ask Peyton if he wanted to hold Avery.  He couldn't wait. It was the first time he actually held her.  As I watched his smile and watched him kiss his baby sister, I just knew that they are going to be best friends.  He is just loving Avery these days.  When she had her 2 month shots, he cried to: "A-ry, sad!  No!".  It was the sweetest thing. He does feel a little left out in the "hat" department though.   I just love these sweet little babes.
