June: Part 1
June flew by. It almost seems like it never happened. We kicked June off by bringing our sweet baby home and Grandma Debbie came to visit for 3 weeks. It was so amazing having company and help with the kids. Peyton had a hard time for about the first week and a half. I think he may have thought that Grandma Debbie brought Avery home. Once Peyton realized neither were leaving, he started warming up.
We had a great time. We went to the zoo, the library, went shopping, watched Brothers & Sisters (my new favorite show), and just played. My mom was amazing and watched the kids for us every week so we could go dates. We saw 2 moves and got to go see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Minneapolis.
This month we also celebrated Father's Day. I kind of forgot about ALL the fathers in our lives but we celebrated Chad! The kids and I made Peyton a jar full of Reese's Pieces that said "We love you to pieces!" I put the kids foot prints in the shape of a heart. We had ribs and potatoes for dinner and by request, Chocolate Lasagna for dessert.
This month Chad had a great rotation. We really enjoyed having him home in the evenings and the horrific call schedule came to a close. In the next 6 months, he only has to take call 3 times a month! Whoo hoo! We are thrilled. Chad enjoyed reading his Vince Flynn books and did a lot of prep for his new rotation. Chad has been loving his baby girl. In the hospital I joked that he was a baby hog. And Peyton has become his daddy's shadow! He can't get enough.
Peyton enjoyed playing outside this month. We finally had some sunny days. Every time we get in the car he asks for the park. He especially loves to swing. Peyton also became very attached to a toy car. Grandma brought home a Sheriff and Peyton took it to bed for a week. We had to ban cars from bed because it hindered sleep. Peyton is also obsessed with blankets and being in the "Dark".
Peyton has become a little copycat in the speech area. He is learning new words left and right. He is beginning to put words together as well. One of my favorites: "Street-Cars-Hurt" (What he says when we tell him he has to hold hands when crossing the street.) And Peyton learned "Gra-ah"-Grandma.
I am just trying to keep my head above water now that all my help is gone. Things are going pretty well so far but there are times I swear these kiddos are ganging up on me.
