Family of 4
We feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends who kept Peyton for us while we were at the hospital. I worried about him--not being in their care but just feeling for him and the way his world was about to change. I was reassured when Lacey sent me a picture of a very happy boy eating breakfast but I knew we weren't over the hump yet.
Peyton becoming a big brother has been a worry of mine. He is a mama's boy and doesn't like to share. He has a hard time around new people and isn't the best at adapting to new situations. He's 21 month old, what more can I say? When Chad first brought him to the hospital, I was holding Avery and he just started saying "Noooo" and repeating it over and over. Then the anger set in and he started yelling in his grunting manner. We tried to get a picture of P with Daddy and Avery and he was just mad. Thank goodness Mommy's hospital bed was super fun and the hospital had Cars 2 On Demand.
Since we have been home Peyton has made baby steps. He started by waving and saying "hi". He calls Avery "Patey" or "Pate", likes to bring her binky to her, push her in the swing, and loves that he is a good helper by delivering diapers and her "drink". He even gave her his version of a hug-his head touching hers. I like to think they will be the best of friends someday.
