May

I figured I better write about this month while I still have the chance, although, I wouldn't be surprised if Avery is late--Have I mentioned how much I hate the waiting game?

May started out in a bizarre fashion.   On May 2 we had a major snow storm.  We got about 15 inches or so.  And I thought Nevada had strange weather.  Chad was on call, of course, but 2 guys from our ward came and snow blowed me out and then borrowed the snow blower to help out a bunch of other families in the ward.  I just love our church and its wonderful people.  Thankfully the snow didn't stick around and a week later we were enjoying green grass and blossoms on the trees.

We have enjoyed some beautiful days at the park.  Peyton LOVES the park and would play all day if we would let him.  He has no fear when it comes to the big slides and climbing.  He especially loves the park when there are bigger kids to follow around and play with.  He also loves to swing but gets a little nervous if you push him too high.  One particular day at the park, we went with our friends Jill and Kate.  P and Kate had so much fun pushing the stroller around together.  We've decided that they are betrothed. (Pate & Kate +8...haha)

This month we also hit up the Children's Museum with some friends and they had a tractor!  Peyton was in heaven!  He couldn't get enough of sitting in the "tract"  and driving.  We have got to get this kid to Idaho to ride in the tractor with Grandpa Jeff!

May brings Mother's Day and I had an awesome one.  Unfortunately Chad was on call on Sunday so P and I just laid low after church on Sunday but Saturday was fantastic.  First, some of my friends threw me a baby shower for Avery.  It was so cute and fun.  We got some great things for our little girl!  In the meantime, Chad got home from being on call the night before at about 8:30am and was acting totally weird.  He was supposed to meet me at the shower to hang out with his buddy whose wife was hosting.  He wouldn't tell me why he came home early and barely talked to me.  But when I got home, there was a plant on the table in a beautifully hand-painted pot and a card from my boys.  Best Mother's Day gift ever! Then that evening Chad and I got to go on a date!  Sadly, I didn't get a picture with my little man.  Better get one anyway...

Other than that, May has been pretty low key.  We've enjoyed having Daddy around a lot more.  Peyton is loving his Dad more and more. They really are two of a kind.  Peyton has started referring to himself as Pate, discovered digging, and we got a pretty cool Hot Wheels race track that Peyton likes but Chad is way more interested in.  Chad also took on a project this month-a backsplash!  It looks amazing if I do say so myself.  I have just been waiting to not be pregnant anymore.  Only one week away from the due date. We are both a little nervous about having another kid but we can't wait to meet little miss Avery!
