Happy Birthday P-Man

We did it! We survived the first year!

I can't believe that we have already had Peyton in our family for a year! It's too crazy. I'm so grateful for him and the blessing that he is in our family. It's an awesome kid and really getting to be so much fun.

Peyton had a great birthday. I think he knew he may have been getting some special treatment. He kind of had a bit of a chip on his shoulder all day. ;)

Peyton's birthday happened to fall on a Tuesday so we got to go to park day and play with friends. You would have thought I didn't even exist the way he traced around the park all by himself. He sure is Mr. Independent.

And as you can see he was loving the swing! He has really started to love slides too!

(Wears me out!)

Speaking of being independent, I love that I can get some stuff done around the house now. Peyton will often disappear and I don't go looking for him right away. But the other day, things were a little too quiet...He had gone into our bedroom and reached up and grabbed some stud earrings off the dresser and was eating them! Good thing I listened to that prompting to go check on him. Mom's room is pretty much off limits to roaming. But often when Peyton is "missing" I find him in his room reading books! It's so sweet!

And then he discovered I was taking pictures of him and had to check it out!

The rest of his birthday way pretty low key. Daddy got home early and we played. Then I had the fabulous idea to make Cake Batter Pancakes. Peyton loves pancakes! BUT he wouldn't eat a bite! Sad day. But Chad and I enjoyed it :)
