Weekend
What a great weekend we had!
Pretty eventful! I'm glad since this was Chad's last free weekend for a while.
On FRIDAY Chad showed up at about 5:30 so we went out to dinner.
{When is the last time that happened?}
Then we got suckered into watching the guy who tight rope walked across Niagara Falls. Pretty crazy stuff--and while we were waiting for the event to take place, we made S'mores in the house. Roasted our mallows right over the stove. Haha. They tasted a little different but they were delicious!
On SATURDAY we hit the road for St. Paul where I went to the temple. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to go and next month it will be Chad's turn. I almost backed out because I felt so bad that Chad and Peyton would just have to hang out for 2 hours. But as we approached the temple we saw some softball games going on and Chad said, "Peyton and I will just come watch softball." Perfect. I felt better--Watching softball lasted all of 10 minutes when it started pouring rain! Sad day. But as much as I enjoyed going to the temple, I look forward to the time when Chad and I can go together again.
Then, we hit the Mall of America--Chad's idea, not mine. But we ate some scrumptious Panda Express and didn't buy a single thing. Yay us!
When we got home we just hung out and Peyton hit a milestone. He got his first fat lip! Way to go little man! He fell against the leg of the piano. He just gets to movin' so fast sometimes.
This is the best picture I could get...He was up and running to 2 seconds after it happened. One tough guy.
Then, we decided to go check out Rochesterfest. We got downtown only to find....NOTHING! So we had a nice walk downtown and we were spotted by the missionaries. How embarrassing!
And finally, date night. Chad and I had tickets to a Rochester Honkers game that we had totally forgotten about. We could have taken P but, we thought with this being Chad's last weekend for a while, we thought we'd enjoy a night just the two of us. Unfortunately it rained like crazy and there was a 2 hour rain delay! We had to leave after the 3rd inning but it was super fun!
SUNDAY=FATHER'S DAY!!!
I'm grateful for dads, grandpas and especially the father of my own son. He's one amazing guy! I just love watching him with Peyton. He loves that little guy so much. I couldn't ask for a better dad for my kid.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a great Father's Day!
