Sweet Home Alabama

Hello from Hoover! I just woke up from a good night's sleep on a cement matress. I've never been to such a strange lang before.... Definately different. I wish y'all could see (and smell) my apartment. I suppose it will grow on me, but holy moley! At least there isn't much to clean. The air conditioner and shower work well, though, so that's good. At any rate, ASMI (where I'm researching) is basically in the backyard of the Birmingham housing projects. I've never been in the projects before, so that's exciting... Maybe I'll see a dead body one of these days. Just kidding. All is well. I complain a lot, but it's just for now. I'm excited to start working and get to know some people from around here. Oh, and the church is in the richest neighborhood I've ever seen, so maybe some rich folk will let me live in their basement and eat their fried chicken! Goodbye for now!

Oh, the long separation begins... I love your wife's countdown.;) I remember Dave being in Phoenix when we were engaged and endless phonecalls -- first in the morning, last at night. I don't envy you, but soak it up -- they're some pretty sweet memories!

I love the pink. I hope you are having a good time doing your research. Following Dr Hulka has been real fun. I've seen some awesome surgeries. Have fun.
